Check ups and X-rays

Check ups and X-rays

Regular dental check-ups are an important habit to establish from an early age, and at My Body Dental, we welcome and care for patients of all ages. Routine check-ups allow us to assess the health of your teeth, gums, tongue and jaw, while identifying any concerns early.

We understand that life can get busy, so if it’s been a while since your last visit, don’t worry — we’re here to help. Our friendly and compassionate dentists take the time to listen to your concerns, answer your questions and support you in achieving your smile goals.

Digital X-rays are also an important part of a comprehensive dental assessment, allowing us to see areas that aren’t visible to the naked eye, including between teeth, beneath restorations and around the bone. At My Body Dental, our digital X-ray system provides fast, comfortable and efficient imaging, while our on-site OPG allows us to capture a clear, broader view of your entire mouth when needed.

Teeth Cleaning

Teeth Cleaning

A routine scale and clean is an important part of maintaining healthy teeth and gums. Professional cleaning removes built-up plaque and calculus (hardened plaque) from above and below the gum line — areas that can be difficult to clean effectively at home.

While regular brushing and flossing are essential, calculus cannot be removed with a toothbrush or floss alone and requires professional removal. Regular cleans help reduce the risk of gum disease and tooth decay while keeping your smile feeling fresh and healthy.

Child & Teen Dental

Child & Teen Dental

At My Body Dental, we want every child to feel happy, comfortable and excited about visiting the dentist. Our friendly clinic is designed with little patients in mind, with a fun play area, TV streaming entertainment and a relaxed, welcoming environment. We take a gentle approach to dental care, helping children build positive experiences and healthy habits from an early age. To make each visit extra special, kids can enjoy a little gift bag and the chance to choose a prize after their appointment!

We also accept and offer the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) for eligible children aged 2–17 years old. The CDBS is a government-funded program designed to help families access essential dental care. Eligible children can receive up to around $1000.00 in benefits over a two-calendar-year period for a range of services.

Is your child eligible?

Eligibility is determined by Medicare. Your child may be eligible if they:

  • Are aged 2–17 for at least part of the calendar year
  • Are eligible for Medicare
  • You or your family receive an eligible government payment, such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, Parenting Payment or Double Orphan Pension, for at least part of the year.

We are happy to check your eligibility for you otherwise; you will find this information when logging into your MyGov account.

Preventative Care

Preventative Care

We believe prevention is the best way to keep your smile healthy for years to come. That’s why we offer a range of preventative treatment options to suit your individual needs.

These include fissure seals, fluoride treatments and personalized oral hygiene advice. We also offer night splints and mouthguards to help protect your teeth from damage or injury.

At MBD, we’re passionate about educating our patients and making sure you have the information and options you need to make the right choices for your smile.

And remember, the best prevention starts at home! We recommend:

  • Brushing your teeth twice a day for two minutes.
  • Flossing once a day to clean between your teeth.
  • Limiting sugary and acidic foods and drinks.
  • Drinking water after enjoying a sugary snack or drink.

Small daily habits can make a big difference. Your teeth will thank you for it!

Fillings & Crowns

Fillings & Crowns

Brushing and flossing every day are great ways to prevent tooth decay and keep your teeth and gums healthy. But if decay or damage does occur, we offer a range of treatment options to restore and protect your teeth.

Fillings can restore the strength, shape and function of a tooth. We offer tooth-coloured composite fillings.

During your check-up, your dentist will carefully assess your teeth and may use X-rays and intraoral photos to identify any decay and understand how far it has progressed.

We’ll explain our findings clearly and talk you through the best options for restoring your tooth.

Sometimes, a tooth needs a little more protection. If a tooth has a large filling, has been affected by trauma or has had root canal treatment, your dentist may recommend a crown.

A crown is custom-made to fit over and protect your tooth, helping to restore its strength and function. Crowns can be made from strong, natural-looking materials such as porcelain and can be matched closely to your natural teeth.

Our goal is always to help you understand your options and choose the treatment that’s right for your smile.

Emergency

Emergency

Dental emergencies can be stressful, especially when you’re in pain. Our friendly and gentle team is here to help with toothaches, swelling, broken teeth, sports injuries and dental trauma.

If you’re experiencing a dental emergency, give us a call and we’ll arrange an urgent appointment to help relieve your pain and get you back on track. We’ll also discuss the best long-term solution to protect your dental health.

We understand that accidents happen, and we’re here to support you and your family when you need us most.

Prevention is key too! We offer custom-fit mouthguards for the whole family. Wearing a mouthguard during sports and training is a simple way to help protect your teeth from injury.

Cosmetic Care

Cosmetic Care

If you’d like to feel more confident about your smile, we’re here to help. From simple whitening treatments to veneers and crowns, we offer a range of options to help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.

Everyone’s smile goals are different, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. We’ll take the time to listen to what you’d like to achieve, answer your questions and talk you through the options that are right for you. There are many ways to enhance your smile, including tooth-coloured fillings, whitening, veneers and crowns.

Our goal is to make your treatment feel comfortable, simple and tailored to you, so you can enjoy a smile you feel happy and confident sharing.

Extractions

Extractions

Sometimes a tooth may need to be removed if it can no longer be restored. This can happen due to extensive decay, trauma, gum disease, a crack that extends into the root, or as part of orthodontic treatment.

Our gentle and caring dentists will always take an X-ray to assess the whole tooth and carefully plan the safest way to remove it. Before we begin, we’ll make sure you’re comfortable with local anaesthetic and explain everything along the way.

We recommend having a good meal before your appointment to help keep your energy levels up.

After your extraction, it’s important to take it easy and allow your body time to heal. Rest at home, drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and enjoy soft foods for the next few days.

We’ll also provide you with simple aftercare advice to help make your recovery as comfortable as possible.

Endodontics

Endodontics

Sometimes a tooth can become badly damaged or infected due to deep decay, wear or trauma. Root canal treatment can often help save the tooth and avoid having it removed.

Keeping your natural tooth has many benefits. It allows you to continue chewing and biting normally and helps maintain smile as it is.

Before treatment, your dentist will carefully assess the tooth and take an X-ray to understand the problem and plan the safest approach. We’ll make sure you’re comfortable with local anaesthetic before we begin. A protective rubber dam is then used to keep the tooth clean and dry throughout the treatment.

Most importantly, we’ll take the time to explain your options, answer your questions and listen to any concerns you may have. We want you to feel comfortable, informed and supported every step of the way.

Clear Aligners

Clear Aligners

SureSmile and Angel Aligners:

Clear aligners are a simple, lifestyle-friendly way to gently straighten your teeth and improve your smile.

At MBD, we offer Angel Aligner and SureSmile clear aligner systems. They use a series of custom-made, clear and removable aligners to gradually move your teeth into their desired position. They can be a great option for mild to moderate crowding and other alignment concerns

For the best results, aligners should be worn for around 22 hours a day, and removed for eating, drinking and cleaning your teeth.

What to expect
Your journey begins with a consultation with one of our MBD dentists. We’ll chat about your goals, answer your questions and assess whether clear aligner treatment is right for you.

If you’re suitable, we’ll take digital scans and photos of your teeth. Your dentist will then create a personalised treatment plan and your custom aligners will be made externally.

Once your aligners arrive, we’ll fit your first set and show you how to wear and care for them. You’ll change your aligners as directed by your dentist, usually every 1–2 weeks, depending on your treatment plan.

You’ll also have regular review appointments so we can check your progress and make sure your treatment is tracking well.

We’ll be with you every step of the way, making your clear aligner journey comfortable, simple and easy to understand.
